  • Extensive, hands‑on rubber compounding experience – this is essential and non‑negotiable
  • Experience leading or managing a technical or lab team
  • Strong understanding of product development, testing and ISO/industry standards
  • Confident working with customers and providing clear technical guidance
  • Commercially aware with a solutions‑focused mindset
  • A collaborative leader who values quality, development and continuous improvement

About the Role

  • Lead rubber compounding product and process development for high‑performance applications
  • Manage and develop the lab and technical team
  • Create recipes, mix cycles and testing specifications
  • Ensure compliance with British, International and customer standards
  • Investigate and resolve non‑conformances
  • Support sales with technical expertise and costings
  • Oversee external testing, trials and commissioning
  • Stay ahead of materials and technology developments
  • Contribute to long‑term technical strategy and innovation
