HSE Manager – Engineering
Are you a Health, Safety & Environment Manager on the hunt for a new challenge? Are you looking for a stand-alone role where you’ll have full responsibility for managing the H&S function? Are you IOSH or NEBOSH qualified?
We’re partnering with a highly reputable and successful engineering business to recruit a HSE Manager.
Working as part of a strong team, you’ll report directly into the Global Head, and be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of Health, Safety and Environmental activities across multiple departments on site. This will include the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 standards.
You could be looking for your next step up or just a new challenge; this is a great opportunity to have an autonomous role without the team management responsibility.
Due to the nature of this role, you will 100% be based on site in North Manchester.

About The Job
- You’ll join as HSE Manager with responsibility for the health, safety and environmental provision including development of policies, procedures and documentation.
- It’s a stand-alone role; you’ll be the HSE site expert!
- Raising awareness of any breaches of Health, Safety or Environmental issues.
- Ensuring any assessments are conducted and recorded as necessary.
- Conducting HSE inspections notifying management where containment, correction, actions or improvement objectives are necessary.
- Highlight training needs.
- Drive implementation, development and maintenance of IMS, ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
- HSE reporting requirements eg, monthly reports, presentations
- Assessment of practices and behaviours from HSE perspective reporting unsafe or non-compliant matters
About You
- You’ll have previous experience in a similar role from within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- It’s essential that you hold a formal HSE qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- You’ll be a confident and articulate communicator with the ability to push forward HSE requirements.
- You’ll be highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient with MS office applications.
- You’ll be commutable to Middleton, North Manchester and will be happy working onsite 5 days per week.
