About the Job

  • You’ll join as a Customer Account Manager who’ll service around 500 key wholesale accounts in the North of England.
  • It’s a tactile role where you will interact with your customers by telephone AND face to face; you’ll spend at least 3-4 days off-site per month, visiting your customers and maintaining that relationship.
  • Your customers are independent freight forwarders who actively use your LCL and FCL service (import and export); it’s down to you to network these customers and make sure that you’re supplying at the maximum potential.
  • Reporting to the UK Sales Manager you’ll be the customers single point of contact from initial enquiry through to aftercare following delivery.
  • Over time, there will be an opportunity for you to progress in to the Business Development Team; if that’s what you want.

About You

  • You’ll have a natural ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally – you’re not going to be in a sales role as such, but being a part of the sales team, you’ll need to keep up with the vibrancy of the team and your customers expectations.
  • It’s essential that you’re currently working in freight forwarding / logistics / shipping so as to have up to date and relevant industry knowledge/advice to impart on your customers.
  • You will LOVE a varied role which will involve providing quotations, pricing, negotiations, upselling, customer service and face to face visits.
  • You must have a full, clean driving licence – own transport is not essential as you’ll be given use of the team pool car when visiting your customers.
