Are you a strategic and commercially driven National Sales Manager?  With your reputable professionalism are you used to building relationships with high profile customers? Are you ambitious and looking to join a business who can offer you progression?

We’ve been retained by a leading FMCG manufacturer whose products are sold to retailers, wholesalers and around the globe.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for UK divisional sales (c£60M). By networking current accounts and seeking and developing new business you’ll successfully grow your division in line with business objectives.

About You

  • You will have around 5 years’ experience in a similar role as an Senior Sales Manager.
  • You’ll be an inspiring leader for your team; with past supervisory experience you’ll nurture and develop them to succeed in everything they do.
  • You’ll be diverse in your knowledge of FMCG and manufacturing.
  • Resilience is key.
  • We’re looking for someone dynamic and ambitious who is looking for a long-term career. There will be further progression opportunities with the business due to planned growth.
  • You must be professional in your sales approach and have the ability to sell directly to business owners, Managing Directors and CEO’s.
  • Ideally, you’ll be degree educated.
  • Preferable experience will be from working in the chemicals, packaging, textiles, paper industries and with FMCG products.
  • You must be prepared to travel regularly to visit your customers around the UK. It’s anticipated that you’ll be away from home c8 nights per month.
  • You should be located either East or North Midlands, Cheshire, Manchester, Yorkshire or Derbyshire and will work from home.

About The Job

  • You’ll join as National Sales Manager.
  • Reporting to the UK Sales Director, you’ll manage the North and South Area Sales Managers for your division.
  • You will support the business in leading strategic and tactical sales for the division. This will include development of the current marketing strategy.
  • You will inherit several key customer accounts which have been nurtured over decades; you’ll continue to grow and develop these relationships, retaining the business.
  • Being the sound sales enthusiast that you are, you’ll get to know your products intimately and will develop a passion for your field; this will enable you to sell your range to the best of your ability.
  • Communication will be a key part of your role, and you will need to liaise regularly with manufacturing, customer service, finance and your sales team to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • You’ll provide weekly and monthly divisional sales reports and analysis.
  • Driven by results, you’ll guide your team through periods of active growth.
