Overview

We’ve partnered with a globally renowned textile manufacturer in their search for a Group Technical Manager to provide leadership across multiple UK textile sites. This is the ideal role for someone who combines engineering expertise with a deep understanding of textile processes – from loom performance through to fabric finishing.

About You

  • You’ll have an engineering background and/or qualification
  • A strong project manager, with the ability to coordinate multiple complex projects
  • A natural leader who inspires and develops engineers, managers and supervisors
  • Good operational experience in a CI environment
  • Resilient under pressure with a solutions focused approach
  • Influential, inspiring and ambitious
  • Happy with a multi-site role, predominantly North West based
  • Highly desirable to have a background in textile manufacturing

About the Role

  • Lead engineering operations covering machinery, utilities and infrastructure
  • Oversee loom performance, fabric quality and finishing processes (washing, dyeing, calendaring, coating)
  • Deliver plant upgrades, automation projects, and equipment modernisation
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Optimise yarn and fabric performance – from warp and weft quality to defect prevention
  • Manage and maintain utilities including boilers, compressors, and effluent treatment plants
  • Drive continuous improvement through digital monitoring systems and process automation
  • Align engineering activity with wider business objectives, working closely with production, R&D, and supply chain
